It is apparent to many in the search industry that Search has outstayed its usefulness in some ways. The background chatter among search professionals is of how inadequate traditional search algorithms are, but their faces and written word say content marketing is the trick to master, and it’s ere to stay.

Yes traditional and latest search algorithm updates by the big Search companies attest to the death of SEO. It toppled off a cliff under the weight of the 90-odd percent of inaccurate results for a service in my area.

Well referenced, regularly updated content is the next step to conquer.

The truth is that the capacity for localization is great for apps, who by their nature are localised (Taxify, Uber, GoogleMaps, the list goes on…) but can answer more personal needs in a way that surpasses traditional apps.

It’s about answers, not results

It all comes down to this one irrefutable truth of what survives. Usefulness survives. Always. So when search results become less useful, they will be replaced by something that answers the big question. And it won’t be well constructed boolean type query that fits into the algorithm in the right order. It will be the service that can pop out a useful result. A service that can answer the question, in near human empathy, “I need a new job” or “I want to buy new clothes” with a number to call for a recruitment agency, a personal stylist and a map to the place.

Answers to relevant questions

Questions are the other factor to weigh — to answer these with products/services that are almost human in their ability to solve a complex problem that is multifaceted in real world ways. How the problem of taxi routes, map services, and contact information.

For product searches.

What if you need more than information. Like a yellow pages on steroids, the problem traditional search answers is the old style SEO results. (SERPs). These results are top phrases of reasonably broad searches for a similar subject, searched for by a reasonably broad number of people.
